Overview
By minibus you drive about 2 hours to the Khao Lak pier, then by speedboat about 90 minutes to the Surin Islands, on the border with Burma. The Surin Islands consist of 5 islands in total and are among the best snorkelling regions in Thailand. Huge numbers of fish and magnificent coral areas. Explore the unique Moken village and meet the locals. The Moken village counts 70 households, inhabited by 300 people. The village also houses a health centre, a school and an information centre. Lunch is taken at the national park office, followed by time on the beach. On the way back, time to snorkel once more.
Good to know
The Surin national park is open from 15 October to 15 May; daily departures in season, max 32 guests, guides speak German, French and English. Minimum age 4. Pregnant women cannot join speedboat tours.
